about me

Matthew Potts is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, currently studying Music Composition for Film/Media at the London College of Music (LCM) in West London.

Originally from Shropshire, Matthew is an alumnus of Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA), a selective performing arts school affiliated with London’s renowned BRIT School, where he specialised in Music Technology and Production. A versatile musician, he plays violin, piano, clarinet, and is also a trained vocalist.

Matthew’s composition portfolio spans film, orchestral, and themed entertainment work. He has composed original scores for several films including Christina (2023), Mission Binder (2024), and Rocks Under Tide (2025). His themed entertainment credits include immersive soundtrack work for Alton Towers and Zoological Park in Staffordshire. He also composed military-themed music for the Ealing Wind Band, and has conducted the Wolverhampton Symphony Orchestra.

Alongside his work in composition, Matthew is also a songwriter and music producer, creating both orchestral and electronic music across genres such as EDM, drum and bass, and hyperpop. He offers professional music copyist services, as well as orchestration, arranging, and transcription for a range of musical projects.

He is currently based in London.

Highlighted project

Christina is an official film soundtrack (OST) I created in collaboration with Birmingham Ormiston Academy film/broadcast students. The film’s genre is thriller/horror and its storyline is based on a vampire who murders people, but then falls in love with one of their victims.

The soundtrack uses traditional orchestral instruments as-well as electronic soundscapes and synths, providing a good contrast of sound which the directors where after. The whole soundtrack is available to listen to on my Youtube.
